The International Journal of Engineering and Technology (IJET) (E-ISSN 2227-524X) publishes peer-reviewed research that advances engineering knowledge, technology, and practice. The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, short communications, technical notes, and relevant case studies.
The journal’s scope includes electrical, electronic and computer engineering; information engineering and technology; mechanical, industrial and manufacturing engineering; automation and mechatronics; materials and chemical engineering; civil and architectural engineering; biotechnology and bioengineering; environmental engineering; petroleum and mining engineering; marine and agricultural engineering; aerospace engineering; artificial intelligence, renewable energy, robotics, nanotechnology, and related interdisciplinary fields.
Each submission undergoes an initial editorial assessment for scope, scholarly quality, originality, ethical compliance, and basic presentation. Suitable manuscripts are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers using a single-anonymous process: reviewers know the authors’ identities, while reviewer identities are not disclosed to authors. Editors consider the reviews and make the final decision. Review duration depends on reviewer availability and the revisions required; the journal does not guarantee an acceptance or publication date.
Reviewers must treat manuscripts confidentially, provide evidence-based and constructive comments, and disclose conflicts of interest. Authors receive the reviewers’ comments and may be asked to submit a point-by-point response. A revised manuscript may be returned to reviewers when necessary.
Submissions must be original, appropriately cited, and not under consideration by another journal. Similarity reports are screening tools, not automatic decision rules. The editorial team assesses the location, nature, attribution, and scholarly significance of any overlap. No fixed percentage by itself determines plagiarism or acceptance. Authors are given an opportunity to respond before a final ethics decision is made.
The journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Editors evaluate allegations impartially and preserve confidentiality. Depending on the evidence and seriousness of a case, action may include clarification, correction, rejection, expression of concern, retraction, or notification of an appropriate institution. Published content is not silently removed; correction and retraction notices remain linked to the scholarly record.
All listed authors must have made a meaningful contribution, approved the submitted version, and accepted responsibility for the work. Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors must be explained in writing and approved by all affected authors. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, confidentiality, and integrity of their manuscripts. Substantive use of generative AI in writing, analysis, images, or code should be disclosed transparently. Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts or unpublished material to public generative-AI services.
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, or professional relationship that could reasonably be perceived to influence the work. When no relevant conflict exists, a separate competing-interests statement is optional. Reviewers and editors must decline assignments when a significant conflict prevents an impartial assessment.
Authors should provide a data-availability statement when data support the findings. Data should be deposited in a suitable repository when possible. If data cannot be shared because of privacy, legal, ethical, or contractual restrictions, the statement should explain the limitation and any reasonable access procedure.
Authors may appeal an editorial decision by sending a concise, evidence-based explanation to IJET@sciencepubco.com. Appeals are considered by an editor who was not solely responsible for the original decision whenever practicable. Complaints about process, ethics, or conduct are handled confidentially and without retaliation. An appeal does not guarantee a different outcome.
The journal provides immediate open access to published content. Under the current SPC policy, authors retain copyright and articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). IJET uses LOCKSS preservation through participating libraries to support long-term access.
Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, relevance, integrity, and the evidence presented. Decisions are independent of an author’s identity, nationality, institution, commercial relationships, or ability to pay. Article processing charges are considered only after acceptance and do not influence peer review.
