About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The SPC Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) (E-ISSN: 3079-6253) publishes original, methodologically sound research across the social sciences. We welcome empirical studies, theoretical contributions, systematic reviews and well-documented applied research that offer a clear contribution to scholarship or practice.
Peer Review Process
All submissions receive an editorial screening for scope, originality, presentation and basic ethical requirements. Suitable manuscripts are sent to independent external reviewers. The journal uses a single-blind process: reviewers know the authors’ identities, while reviewer identities are not disclosed to authors. Editorial decisions are based on the reports, the manuscript and the editor’s academic judgment; no decision is made by a fixed vote or similarity percentage alone.
Authors receive the editor’s decision and reviewer comments when applicable. Revisions should address the comments in a response letter. Reviewers and editors must disclose conflicts of interest and keep manuscripts confidential. The journal follows relevant COPE guidance.
Open Access and Archiving
This is an open-access journal. Published content is freely available online. The journal supports preservation through distributed archiving services where available.
Copyright and License
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles published under the current SPC policy are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). The license permits sharing, adaptation, distribution and reproduction, including commercial use, provided appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is provided, and changes are indicated. Previously published articles remain subject to the license stated at publication unless expressly relicensed with the necessary rights and permissions.
Research Integrity and Originality
Manuscripts must be original, properly cited and not under review elsewhere. The editorial office may use similarity-detection tools and assesses any overlap in context, including quotations, references and legitimate reuse. Where concerns arise, authors are given an opportunity to respond; proportionate actions may include revision, rejection, correction or retraction, with a public notice when appropriate.
Author-friendly publishing
Online submission, peer review and production are designed to keep the publication journey clear and manageable. Authors should follow the Author Guidelines and may contact editor@sciencepubco.com for accepted-article production support.
