About the Journal

About the journal

International Journal of Advanced Chemistry (IJAC) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Science Publishing Corporation. The journal provides a permanent scholarly record for original research articles, review articles and other contributions that advance knowledge in chemistry.

Aims and scope

IJAC welcomes scientifically sound and clearly reported work in organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, theoretical, materials, environmental, medicinal and computational chemistry, as well as interdisciplinary research in which chemistry makes a substantial contribution. Manuscripts should state a clear research question, use appropriate and reproducible methods, and relate their findings to the relevant literature.

Peer review

Submissions are screened by an editor for relevance, basic quality and compliance with journal requirements. Suitable manuscripts are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers under a double-anonymous process. Editors consider the reviews and the manuscript as a whole; reviewer recommendations inform, but do not automatically determine, the editorial decision. Review duration varies with the subject, reviewer availability and the extent of revision required, so the journal does not guarantee a fixed decision or publication date.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, relevance, clarity, methodological soundness and ethical compliance. Commercial considerations do not determine editorial decisions. Editors and reviewers must disclose relevant competing interests and recuse themselves when impartial assessment is not possible.

Open access and copyright

New articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright and permit sharing and adaptation with appropriate attribution. Articles published under an earlier licence retain the licence stated on their article page or PDF unless they are formally relicensed.

Fees

IJAC charges no submission fee and no article processing charge (APC).

Publication ethics and research integrity

Authors must submit original work, cite sources accurately, report methods and results honestly, and obtain any necessary ethical approval, consent or permission. Text-similarity reports are assessment tools, not automatic decision thresholds; editors evaluate the nature, context and significance of any overlap. Suspected misconduct is considered fairly and may be referred to the relevant institution when appropriate.

Corrections and retractions

The journal investigates credible concerns and may publish corrections, expressions of concern or retractions as appropriate. A retracted article remains part of the scholarly record: its landing page is retained, clearly marked and linked to the retraction notice. The journal does not silently remove published articles except where access must be restricted for a compelling legal or safety reason.

Use of artificial intelligence

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations and integrity of their work. Generative-AI tools cannot be authors. Material use of such tools in drafting, analysis, images, code or translation should be disclosed with the tool and purpose stated. Routine spelling or grammar correction does not require disclosure. Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts or review material to public AI services.

Complaints and appeals

A reasoned complaint or appeal should identify the manuscript or article, the decision or concern, and the supporting facts. It will be considered by an editor without a relevant conflict where possible. Repeated appeals without new evidence may be closed. Use the journal's official contact page for correspondence.

Archiving and identifiers

Published articles receive a DOI and are available through the journal archive. Authors and readers should use the DOI and canonical article landing page when citing or sharing work.
